On their wedding dayto celebrateHave a lot of faith, love and tolerance, advise Leo and Rose Gallo, 9002 Sheridan Road. They were speaking about marriage; their own has lasted 50 years.Gallo and the former Rose Maniscalli, who met in an ice skating rink in Chicago, were married July 20,1935 in Chicago. They have lived in Kenosha 41 years.They will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with a family party from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Nafi’s restaurant.The couple has two children, Leo F. Gallo, Kenosha, and Rosalee T. Emmerich, Lexington, Ky. There are four grandchildren.Gallo worked at American Motors, retiring in 1976. His wife is a homemaker.They are members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.A regular particpant in the Kenosha News County Open during the late 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, Gallo once placed second in the champion division. During the seven years of the senior division Gallo placed first four times, second twice and oncethird; he was champion the year it ended.Gallo is current chairman of Local 72-UAW legislative committee and is a current board member of Kenosha Action Coalition and the St. Catherine’s Share Program.KenoshaLeo and Rose Gallo today
