IBig Contracts Awarded.Yesterday the Trustees of the CovingtonReservoir awarded to Peter, Scully Crane, ofthis city, the Contract for building the newCovington Reservoir, to be situated five milesabove Newport. Its capacity is to be 110,000,000gallons, and it is to be one of the finest in this part of i he country. The bid at which Peter,Scully Crane received the contract was$316,377. f The contract for pipe and special castings was awarded to the Cincinnati and Newport Iron and Pipe Company, and the contract for laying it to McRae Lgiley, of Lockport, N. Y.The work: is to be begun at once and to be pushed vigorously to completion. The contract for tine pumping-house and machinery will be awarded next week. The purchase of the land and right of way, as recently published by the Commercial Gazette, has been completed, au4 Covington will have its newwater not later than October, 1888.
