Scanlan 50thWOODSON—Merlin and Sylvia Scanlan of 17 Thiesland, Woodson, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home on July 28.The event, to be hosted by their children, will be held from 2-4 p.m. Family and friends are invited and are asked to omit gifts.Sylvia Mosley and Merlin Scanlan were married on July 26,1941, at Rock Island.The Scanlans are the parents of three children, Ronald (wife, Sonia) of Orinda, Calif., Mrs. Jack (Beverly) McNeece of Woodson and John (wife, Kathy) of Glenarm. They have five grandchildren, Kevin Scanlan of Orinda, Calif., Karen and Paul Scanlan of Glenarm and Julie and Brenda McNeece of Woodson.The Scanlans are retired farmers.ndIvJtFtII
