West Liberty CoupleCelebrate Their 50thWedding AnniversarySp^lal to Th* RepublicanWEST LIBERTY, July 13.—Mr.and Mrs. John Neubauer quietly observed their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at their home here. They renewed their marriage vows In St. Joseph's church following early mass Sunday morning, and at the same time received the church blessing on their fifty years of wedded life. The Rev. Father J. J. Welsh officiated. They are the first couple to have their vows renewed in the history of the St. Joseph church.Mr. and Mrs. Neubauer were married in the Catholic church at j Harmsdorf, Germany, and in 1882 they came to America, living for a j short time in Muscatine, where Mr. j Neubauer worked for the Rock Island railroad. Later they lived atMoscow, Atalissa, Grinnell, Homestead and in 1900 they came to West , Liberty. In July, 1929. Mr. Neubauer received a pension from the Roclt; I Island for forty-seven and one-half j years of continuous service. jMr. and Mrs. J. W. Honke of Atalissa, who were guests ut the wed- j ding of Mr. and Mrs. Neubauer, will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary in January. iThe Neubauers have eight children: Mrs. L. C. Freyermuth, Fort Collins, Colo.; I^eo Neubauer, Wal- j cott; Hugo Neubauer, Iowa City; ! Grego Neubauer, Spring Valley, 111.; Rhinhardt Neubauer. Walcott; Mrs. Ollie Wiese. Brooklyn; Ferdinand Neubauer. Chicago, and Mrs. J. C.) Kelly of Plato. All the children and • their families were present Sunday, j besides fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
