1,500-Acre Farm Sale Is RecordedOne of the largest farm transactions, both in the number of acres and sale price, ever recorded in s the history of the Newton County Recorder’s Office took place this week when the sale of the Wildwood -Ranch west of Joplin was re-• corded.The ranch, totaling 2,100 fibres, and located VA mile west of the Joplin city limits, was sold by Mr. and 'Mrs. George W. Potter of Joplin to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Elkan of Bartlesville, Okla. Documents at the recorder’s office show that about 1,500 acres of the farm are located in Newton County, and that the 1,500 acres sold for $155,000. The rest of the farm is in Jasper County.A. R. Camfield, chief deputy re-. eorder, said it was the largest transaction his office had re corded since he went into office in Jan. 1, 1955.The Elkans will continue theirresidence in Bartlesville.
