By Sammies brave across the sea, And lovely France again be free From warfare of the Kaiser.And when the Kaiser’s race is run And crushed and beaten every Hun, Who'll sing for joy “The Victory's Won?”Our Sammy boys, our Sammies.To fathers, mothers, sisters dear,! And friends and sweethearts far and near,Who writes with love and hope and cheer?The Sammies, noble Sammies.The Red Cross nurse, with gentlehand,Has braved the horrors of that land To save our boys and ease their pain, And nurse them back to health again,The wounded, suffering Sammies.And some will sleep across the sea, And ne’er come back to you and me, And many darkened homes there’ll beAnd vacant chairs of Sammies;The loved and honored Sammies.Then let us work with all our might To turn this darkness into light;Send help, give all to win this fight, And save our noble Sammies;Our brave heroic Sammies.
