McLuckie family holds reunion at MaplehurstFROSTBURG — The McLuck-ie family reunion was held recently at the Maplehurst Country Club.The event was planned by Norma Jean McLuckie Delaney and Sarah Jane Ewing with the assistance of Ruth Hohing, Idabelle Neilson, Dottie Bohrer, Sue and Ray Comfort, Rose Marie Schriver, James McGet-tigan, John McLuckie, Mike McLuckie, and Bill Delaney.A ceremony at the former McLuckie Cemetery, now Frost-burg Memorial Park, was organized by Sarah Ewing. The Rev. Bill Preston offered prayers. A history of the cemetery was presented by Idabelle Ewing Neilson with songs by Jane Stevenson.John A. Grant of Oakland, attired in a traditional Scottish kilt, played the bagpipes. A buffet dinner was then held.George Michael McLuckie served as master of ceremonies. An invocation was given by James McGettigan. John McLuckie read a farewell letter that was written to family immigrants by Robert McLuckie. Family genealogy was explained by Norma McLuckie Delaney. Sarah Jane Ewing awarded the prizes.The oldest family members present were Agnes Ewing McGettigan and Margaret MacLuckie. Samuel McLuckie, nine-month-old son of Chuck and Kelly McLuckie of Frostburg was the youngest member present. Traveling the farthest to attend the reunion was Julie Delaney from Davis, Calif.Flowers were by Esmerelda’s of McCoole. Photos were taken by Bob and Pat Brettman and Carla A. Rice.
