—At Otwell, Pike Count/, the other evening, W. a Wallace, eighteen months ofct of the Siate Prison, and overflowing with purecussedneae, proceeded to the bouse of hisfather-in-law, Mr. Benton Parker, with whom his wife lives, and carry ng afea her-bed into the yard, placed his child, a mere babe, upon it, and attempted to set it on fire. The family remonstrated, when he proceeded to adjust matters by breaking the furniture and driving the family from the house. Mt Parker and family fled In terror from the demon, bnt a little thirteen year-old son of Mt Parker had secured a revolver during the panto, end when Wallace rushed upon him he fired, the 81-caliber ball striking his assailant In the shoulder and burying itself about three inches deep Taa ball wee removed by the surgeon, and the wound, though aastoua, will not prove fatal. He was arrested and removed to jail at Petersburg.
