West, shown above, took to the water at the yards of the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Corporation while thousands cheered the ceremony/ But the record of Che moat perfect launch Is not the only one achieved by the West. The boat Is the largest steel craft ever built at the Manitowoc yards, being 470 feet long*, and is to be the most modernly equipped vesael ever sent from here. The boat is-named for Charles C. West^ president of the Shipbuilding Corporation. It Is built Tor the Rockport company.Miss Margaret Reiss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Reiss, of Sheboygan, was sponsor for the now craft and broke the bollle of wlue to christen the steamer.
