ANNIVERSARY OF MR. AND MRS.WILLIAM T. D1CKMAN AT THEIRHOME AT FLAT ROCK SATURDAY EVENING.Mr. and Mrs. WlUiam T. Dickman, of Flat Rock, celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary- of their marriage Saturday, July 4th. More than two hundred of the friends and relatives of the couple gathered at their home to assist in,the celebration. Invitations for the affair had been sent out more than a week ago.The home of Mr. and Mrs. Dickman had been decorated In red, white and blue, the national colors. The yard ot the Dickman home had been prettily decorated, lanterns having been, strung ail over the place.An elegant luncheon was served by Mrs. Dickman with the assistance of her friends. The large wedding cake that was on one of the tables In the yard was the gift of George Diokmon. of New Castle, a brother of William Dickman. Mr, and Mrs. Dickman received a large number of presents from their friends.Mr. and Mrs. Dickman were married in this city on July 4th. 1889. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Hughes, at that time the pastor of the Presbyterian church here. They made their home then on a farm west of here. Later they moved to near Lewis Creek and still later to their present home at Flat Rock. Mrs. Dickman was formerly Miss Lucy Fentz.Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Lamitz. Arcadia. F. ROHM, NEAR FAIR LA NO—PROSPECTS SEEM BRIGHT.(From Monday’s Daily.)The oil well which was drilled on the farm of A. F. Rohm, three and one-halt miles northeast of Fairland, was shot this afternoon at one o'clock. At the time of going to press no very definite statement oould be made concerning the success of the venture, but those in charge take a very optimistic view of the situation.As soon as the well was shot, one of the chemists working for the oil company, examined bhe stones and assured. his employers that oil had been struck, but just how much, however, be was unable to state, later the flow of oil which started began increasing until the outlook has now become very favorable.William Bass, Harry Teal, James Teal. Ralph Edwards. Harry Clark, Robert d’Hcur. Herbert Neal, Harry Sorden and John Cheney, of this city, witnessed the shooting of the well. TbeBe gentlemen are very enthusiastic over the well and Judge the output from It at present to be from fifteen to twenty barrels a day.A nine pound baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs, Oliver Clay, of Waldron, Thursday afternoon.
