Hit-run Victim Dies; Police Seeking DriverEarl C. Foreman, Struck Near Gore School, Fails To Regain ConsciousnessEarl C. Foreman, 51, struck by a hit and run driver late Saturday night while walking along the highway near the Gore school, died 6 pjn. yesterday in the Winchester Memorial hospital without regaining consciousness.Mr. Foreman was found by Wayne Wisecarver who lives nearby and was attracted to the scene by a noise which he first believed to be an automobile accident. However, there were no vehicles in sight when he reached the highway and found the injured man, it was stated.A passing motorist drove to Frank's filling station where Charley Franks called the Winchester police and an ambulance.State Police ProbeTrooper C. A. Seale stated this morning that an investigation is being pressed into the matter. No arrests have been made.The deceased was the son of the late Harrison and Bessie Foreman. His father died about a month ago. He was bom at Gore where he spent his entire life and had been employed at the sand mine.Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Elizabeth Lovelace, and six children: Shirley Foreman, Winchester: Eunice Foreman. Silver Springs. Md.; Mrs. Stanley Riley, Gore: HarrisonForeman. U. S. Army, now stationed in Germany; Mrs. John Clowser, Winchester; and Carol Foreman, at home.Also surviving are two grandchildren and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Clyde Mauck, Bristow, Va : Mrs. Guy Shoemaker and Mrs David Link, of Gore; Ira Foreman, Gore; Ray and Cecil Foreman, Moorefield; and Ercell Foreman, of Winchester.Funeral ThursdayServices will be conducted Thursday afternoon. Relatives and friends will meet at the Giffin funeral home at Capon Bridge, and from there the funeral cortege will proceed to the Ebenezer church near Whitacre where the services wil be conducted about 3 p.m. by the Rev. S. J. Goode, of Winchester.Pallbearers will be: David Link, Guy Shoemaker, Linden Ramey, John Clowser. Garland Clowser and Stanley Riley.
