Oak Park United Methodist ChurchAt Oak Park United Methodist Church, 2515 Bonham Street, a meal will be prepared Saturday by Elizabeth Steed and Maty Jo Newman for Meals On Wheels. On Sunday, activities begin at 8:30 a.m. with the Prayer Group meeting in the library.This is followed at 9 a.m. by food, coffee, and fellowship in the Family Life Center. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the 10:50 a.m. morning worship, which is broadcast on MIX 107.7 radio. The Rev. Steve Cook’s sermon topic is ‘Radical Faith In A Complex World, with the scripture from Acts 9:1-17 (Paul's conversion). Choir rehearsal begins at 4 p.m.Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Oak Park, in partnership with Central Presbyterian, Holy Cross Episcopal, and first Christian, hosts a sports camp for children ages 6 to 12. This is a free camp, where students will learn Christian behaviors and principles of soccer, basketball, cheeheading and golf. It will be held at Oak Park UMC, but you may call any of the four churches to register a child.Activities for the week begin at 9 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday with the Thimble and Thread Quitters meeting in the Family Life Center. The Bible study group meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Each evening, Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., tne sports camp will be held.
