McARTHUR — Chil d r e nfrom the Columbus Community Camp, New Plymouth Route 1, are barred from swimming at Lake Hope until better arrangements can be made with Director Thelma Stinson and Lake Hope Manager Dick McDaniel.McDaniel said that a list of names of children using the lake beach, plus their next of kin and addresses must be submitted to Beach Manager Don Peters before any more Community Camp! children can use the beach.! This came on the heels of j the lake’s fourth drowning in! its history last Wednesday, j Harry Roy Arthur, 11, one of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. John Arthur, Columbus, drowned in the lake while his friend and neighbor, nine-and-one-half - year - old Walter Thompson, was rescued by Lifeguard Reid i Krantz.McDaniel said that bettersupervision by camp counsellors who accompany the children to the beach must be included in the future.
