Mrs. Barbara YenneyBarbara Babler Yenney was one of five children born to ; Friedolin and Elsbeth Babler, in ■ Nitfurin, Canton Glarus, Switzerland ,on Sept. 15, 1874. There she* attended the public schools and received such education as the time and facilities offered. She* was reared and. confirmed in the Christian faith as taught by thet Reformed Church of Switzerland. I At the age of 19 she emigrated to America and shortly after her arrivel or on June 14, 1894, she was united in marriage to Melchoir Yenney. To this union five children were. born. Her entire life after emigrating to America, with the exception of three years, was spent in and around Elgin.Mrs. Yenney became ill on Thursday, June 22, while visiting her son, Elmer, in Janesville, Wis., and passed away early Friday morning, July 1, in Mercy hospital, Janesville, at the age of seventy-four years. ’She was preceded in death by her husband, Melchoir, who passed away Sept. 8, 1941.She is survived by five children, Melchoir, jr., of Huron, S. D., John, of Waukegan, 111., Frieda, Mrs. R. A. Crider, of Elgin, Elmer, and Margaret, Mrs. J. Chas. Knight, of Janesville, Wis. ,also nine grandchildren and two great granddaughters.Mrs. Yenney was a home loving soul. Home and her family always came first. Her hands were always busy when she was able.Funeral services were conducted at the Elgin Baptist church Sunday afternoon, at two o’clock. Rev. Arthur Ittermann officiated and burial was made in the Elgin cemetery. Pall bearers were Richard Miller, Lawrence Etter, John Durscher, Paul Zurbriggen, Norris Capper and Forest Welch.Card of ThanksWe wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the many friends and neighbors for all the kind expressions of sympathy, flowers and many other kindnesses which were a comfort to us during our bereavement.
