Mrs. Violet BoysMrs. Violet W. Boys, 75, formerly of 1312 Eagle St., died Sunday at Clarion Medical Serv-icesShe was born Oct. 4, 1907 in Pine Township, Jefferson County, a daughter of Eugene and Euphemia Shingledecker Whiteman. She married George Shackleton Boys in July 1940 and he died Dec. 23,1944.Mrs. Boys retired from Polk Center in 1970 after a 23-year career as an occupational therapy aid. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church inFranklin.She is survived by two daughters, Mary Joan Bridges of Beaver and Emily H. Tarr of Franklin; six grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Twila) Larsen of Gettysburg; Mrs. Melvin (Helen) Shick and Mrs. Alfred (Hazel) Smith of New Bethlehem; a brother, Lee Whiteman of New Bethlehem.A son, David R., and two brothers, Hiram and Laurence, are deceased.Funeral services were conducted today at the John R. Mateer Funeral Home, New Bethlehem with the Rev. Dennis Blouser of Brookville officiating. Interment was in New Bethlehem Cemetery.
