Almost every street in the city was lined with brandies of trees Sunday morning where tlio wind had broken them off, the city park was filled with broken branches and somo trees were blown completely down. The eloctrio light wires were broken in twenty one different places, and the lights were turned off in the residence portion of the city about 11 p. m. At Sixth and Locust streets the lightning struck the wires and broke them from the cross $rms, and in other parts of the city, the lights wore put ont, while many telephones were pat out of business. The lightning losses bo far reported from the country,include a horse own ed by HermaD Hopke residing near the city, a cow owned by Mike Marshall north of town, and another cow owned by J. E. Trailer, while the Lam on tbe John Swisher farm northeast of Marne was struck by lightning and slightly damaged. The barn waB insured in the Oass County Mutual Insurance Company and the loss will ba light. It is also reported that Nelse Nelson near Braj ton suffered some loss by the wind and lightning bnt to what extent is not learned.
