Schoonovers mark golden weddingMr. and Mrs. Orville T. Schoonover of 106 Wabash Ave were honored by their children at a family dinner in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 22, in Bethel Community Center.Their four children include Mrs. TedHelen Anne) Serafin of Oil City, Thomas W. Schoonover, Mrs. Paul (Mary Martha) Rode and Paul L. Schoonover, all of Franklin. A son, Orville Theodore (Teddy) Schoonover Jr., died in infancy in 1S37. The Schoonovers have seven grandchildren.Guests attended the celebration from Pittsburgh. Mercer, Erie, Clarion, New Bethlehem, Polk, Franklin, Seneca and Oil City.The couple was married June 23, 1930, in St Stephen’s Church by the late Father James Fielding Mrs. Schoonover, the former Meredith H Palm, is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Thomas Palm of Polk Her husband is the son of the late Mr and Mrs. William Schoonover of Oil Cit\WTheir attendants on their wedding day were Marie Schoonover as maid of honorand Mansel ‘ Bud’ Brown as best man.Mr. Schoonover was employed by Oil-well Division of U.S. Steel Corp. until November 1959 when he retired on disability.
