Mr. and Mrs. John Chapman celebrated their golden wadding on Tuesday, June 28th. All their sons (excepting their eldest son Edward) and (laughters, with their wives and husbands und families were present. About 160 guests were present, including the Seeley’s Bay braes band, which furnished excellent music during the evening. Tho following relatives were present : Mr. aud Mrs. James Todd, daughter Florence and eon Angus; John Todd and daughter,Good wood, Ont.; Mrs. R. Maxwell and son Morris, and William C. Gainford, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. A. Eaton and Mrs. C. Foafc, “Englewood,” Chicago; Miss Victoria Gilbert end Miss Flossie Chapman, Kingston; Mr. and Mrs. George Chapman, Sweet’s Corners; Mr.and Mrs. W. F. Bracken and family; Mr. and Mrs. John Bracken, Ellisville; Mr. and Mrs. William Dunn, Sweet’s Careers; Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman, Seeley’s Bay, and sons, J. W. Chapman, Smith’s Falls, and Edward Chapman, Havelock; I Mrs. 8. Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, Mr. and Mrs. William Gilbert and family; Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Gilbert and daughter Ella; Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Bracken and family; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman and daughter Vera; Miss Eva Gilbert, Miss M. Gilbert, Miss R Gilbert, Miss A. Moore and Edward Moore,besides many others.Among the many costly presents were a beautiful solid silver, gold lined fruit basket gfven by Mr. and Mrs James Todd; one pair solid silver napkin rings by Miss Todd and brother Angus; a solid silver fruit basket by Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Bracken; a beautiful umbrella with gold head by J. W. and E. Chapman, nephews; a silver tea set, gold lined, by Mrs. A. Eaton and Mrs. C. Foat, sisters of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. R Maxwell gave a gold ring each; a gold lined bon-bon dish by W. C. Gainford; a gold lined berry spoon by Miss Flossie Chapman; a berry set by Mr. and Mrs. W. Abernothy, and a silver butter dish by Mr. and Mrs. C. Gilbert.A social party in honor of tho occasion was given at the residence of Frank Chapman on Wednesday overling, when a pleasant fitme was had by the large number present. The band was also prosent and gave excellonb music, which added much to the evening’s enjoyment.
