Local Couple Honored On AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Harold Connor, East College Avenue, Frostburg, were honored recently with a dinner party atMaplehurst Country Club in observance oftheir 50th wedding anniversary.Mr. Connor, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Connor, and Mrs. Connor, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reese, were married June 19, 1933, in the Lutheran parsonage, Centre Street, Cumberland. Rev. Nile Webb was the officiating clergyman. They are the parents of one son, Richard Connor, Winchester.Gold and green were used throughout the color scheme. The three tiered cake was baked and served by Betty Lou Connor, daughter-in-law of the couple. Mrs. Bettie Williams, sister of Mr. Connor, served the punch.Mr. Connor is a retired supervisor of CelaneseCorp. and is a member of Frostburg Lodge 470, BPO Elks. Mrs. Connor is a member of Mountain Chapter 15, Order Eastern Star. Both are members of St Paul’s Lutheran Church.Approximately 40 guests attended the celebration. Mrs. Veanetta Powell entertained the couple at a surprise dinner party the previous week at the Ali Ghan Shrine Club.Club Recesses For Two MonthsThe East Side Homemakers will not meet in July and August, but will resume regular sessions in September.Gen.
