FIVE£IaPlan Open House On50th AnniversaryMr, And Mrs. John Jacobs, sr., To Celebrate Golden Wedding- Anniversary At Residence, 1*2522nd St., SE., MondayMi*, and Mrs. John Jacobs, sr., of 125 22nd St., SE, will celebrate their 50th wedding* anniversary on Monday, July 8, by receiving* their relatives and friends at open house in the afternoon and evening*.Sunday the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will motor to the Jacobs homestead, one mile south of East Greenville, for a picnic dinner.Mr. nnd Mrs. Jacobs were married \-$COS■3:3'.y.'.'A:VV.’.Von July 8. 1890 in St. Clement’s church, Navarre. Mrs. Jacobs before her marriage was Miss Katherine ICimmel. Their attendants were the | late Mr. and Mrs. John Kolia. They have been residents of Massillon and vicinity for 50 years ard are both in good health. Mr. Jacobs was a miner before he took up farming. Both are natives of Germany coming to this courtry when they were in their teens. Mr, Jacobs was born at Rhineland and Mrs. Jacobs at Lorraine, and her parents settled near West Brookfield.Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs were parents of seven children, six of whom are living, Mrs. Robert Buttermore, of North Lawrence, Mrs. Louis Bertels, of Beech Grove, John P. Jacobs, of this city, Carl Jacobs, of Guliver, Mich., Edward Jacobs, who resides at the homestead, and Andrew Jacobs, of Navarre, and have 21 grandchildren and three great grandchil-. dron.Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs are members of St. Joseph’s church.Hostess To 500 ClubMrs. H. V. Ress, of Ertle ave., NE.,delightfully entertained members ofher 500 club Tuesday evening at the Green Tree which was beautifully decorated throughout with roses. Prizes for I he best scores were awarded to Mrs. R. H. Keller and Mrs. H. F. McCormick, the traveling prize going to Mrs. Frank E. Kessel.Refreshments were served at a long table which was attractively appointed with several bouquets ofroses.Mrs. William C. Warth, st., SW., will be hostess to July 18 at the same place.o—o—oMrs. Clark EntertainsMrs. Charles Clark, of ave., NE, entertained her at her residence Tuesday evening when prizes went to Mrs. Raymond Kraft, a guest of the club, Mrs. Robert Ries, of Fulton, and Mrs. George Schneider.
