Aline Bberle today received from the Bnlston-Furina Hero Com-• m t .mission of St. Louis a hero medal awarded her for saving: the lives of Misses Helen and Elisabeth Ab~ ernethy^nt Sagmount pool about a year ago.The .medal is of bronze and on one side is engraved “For Service to Others, with an artistic design, and on the other, Hero Medal Awarded to Aline Eberle, May. 26, 1923, by Balston-Furina Hero Commission,. St. Louis, Mot^ The .incident which brought the medal to Miss Hberle occurred white a party of girls was swihtming at Sagmount. The * Abernetliy girlswere locked in tight embrace whenMiss Kberle, who was on the bank, jierceived their blight.Bunning to a point nearest, them; she plunged in and,, using knowledge acquired in life saving classes, succeeded in breaging them apart. She brought one to the bank, then swum bapk and rescued the other.Miss Eberle is a daughter of Mr. and (Mrs. Frank Hberle. She was honorary cadet major of the Joplin high school B. O. T. C. prior to being graduated this year and is popular in the younger, social circles of the city,
