empiuyvuby countyThe Greene County Board of Commissioners employed a county engineer at its meeting Monday, appointed arepresentative to the ambulance commission and discussed budget items.The commissioners employed Sherrel Page as engineer and set the salary at $20,000. Mrs. Julian Huffman was appointed to the ambulance commission as the commissioners’ appointment.The budget for the commissioners was approved at $17,993 for the coming year and sent to the county council for action. The commissioners also recommended that all electedofficials get a $600 per year raise.James Slater was appointed as Wright Township Justice of the Peace and David Walton was named as Stockton Township Justice of Peace Constable. The board voted that the deputy in the extension office be made a first deputy.The commissioners approved the purchase of the air conditioners in the oldFreeman-Greene CountyHospital for use in the courthouse and sent the approval to the council for action.A request for $1,000 for brucellosis and tuberculosis testing in cattle was approved.The board voted to close the courthouse on July 4 and 5.
