Judge Hartsfield and Dr. HollabaughGive Program, Co. Historical GroupDr. J. B. Hollabaugh. president of the Ellis County Historical Survey Committee, presided atlast night’s meeting of the groupin Waxahachie.Judge Milton Hartsfield, speaker for the occasion, talked on plans for the organization for1964 and then discussed the early court records of Ellis County. These were recorded 1 ^ ^ ^ OUllt \ was organizedand were reported to be ‘ mostinteresting.Mrs. Fred A. Newton showed a history of Ellis County, property of R. W llesser, written in 1881 by S. M Carleton who was editor of the Ennis Saturday Review which was established in 1873.Dr. Hollabaugh read a paperhorses. The former Miss Winnie Mae Murphy married Asa Bynum and they later moved to the Oak Branch Community, near Waxahachie. They are both buried it the Oak Branch Cemeterv. Asa Bynum helped organize the Oak Branch Church and he and his wife were favorably known in the Oak Branch Community Dr. Hallabaugh reported for Houston McClain of Palmer and Mrs. C. W. Kent of Waxahaehifthat information has gone miothe State Historical headquarters pertaining to Parsons' Brigade so that a marker may beobtained for this spot He alsoreported for Miss Mabel On/ zard that her committee is working on a Medallion for the old jail there and also for the smal’!, Th KG lnlt; a l)ii Syi bvlasfuisent to him from Bloek Co..
