Constable G. D. Bennett was calledto the negro settlement, northwest ottown, Friday to take charge of a negro who used his knife freely onhis brother-in-law. The negro whowas on the receiving end of the knife was Virgil Gilliam. He was cut across the breast and on the ri^ arm. The cut on the arm severed an artery, from which he came nearbleeding to death. The i.Tof used the knife goes by the name of Doc Burton. He was arrested byConstable Bennett and after makmK bond was released to await action oithe grand jury.
