Wednesday, January 21st*, wit* nessed the gathering of children and relatives, at the home of Nathan Engle and wife near Butlerville, who on that day celebrated their Golden Wedding, having completed 50 years of married life. About 30 persons including all their children were present; at noon a bountiful repast was served, and the remainder of the day was passed in social converse. Nathan Engle was born 4n Columbiana county, Ohio, June 13th, 1814, and his wife Catherine Hole was born near Clarkson, in the same county and State, June 24th, 1816. They were married January 21st, 1841, at Carmel church in Columbiana county Ohio, in which county they - lived until 1855, when they moved to Jennings county, and settled on the farm where they now live. Of seven children who reached maturity six are living, all of whom are married and reside in various parts of Indiana, with the exception of one son who lives in Ohio. The grand children number sixteen, and great grand childen three. The worthy couple are members of the Friend’s church, whoseceremony was used at their wedding. Of forty-nine persons Who signed the marriage certificate, but seven are living. May they witfiess many happy re^ turns of their wedding day is the wish of their friends. * C. F. H.
