Friday, January 17, 1W7, THE BRANDON SUN,EUGENA MOORE, PA 9-2451JEAN BAKER, PA 6-2562Mr. And Mrs. Percy DavisCelebrate 50th AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Percy Edwin Davis of 131 Seventh Street North were honored, Jan. 24, at open house when 75 friends and relatives called to congratulate them on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.Three of their seven sons, Elmer of Brandon, Ervin of Ottawa and Marvin of Red Deer and two of their five daughters, Mrs. William Nevins (Viola and Mrs. Arthur Perrin, (Margaret) both of Red Deer, Alta., were home for the event.The couple’s other children are Elvin of Red Deer, Orval, now in Egypt, whose home is in Vancouver; Orlin of Vancouver and Floyd; Mrs. Carl Jensen (Gladys), Mrs. Ray Davis (Thelma ), both of Red Deer and Mrs. Walter Praud (Doreen) of Cold Lake, Alta.There are 50 grandchildren andthree great-grandchildren.Mr. Davis was born at Ka-leida, Man., and Mrs. Davis, the former Cornelia Maude Allen, was born at Kenlis, Sask., (then in the district of Assinibola).The couple was •arried, Jan.24. 1917. in Red Doer.OES InstallsNew OfficersMiss Agnes Neilson, past matron, assisted by Mrs. W. E. Ca-vanagh as marshal installed the 1967 officers of Queen Mary Chapter No. 3, OES, at a meeting in the Masonic Temple. Others assisting were Miss EdithMr. and Mrs. Davis left Red Deer in J ne, 1917 and lived at Windy Gates, Man., for 20 years. They have resided in Brandon and district for the past, 17 yearsMessages of congratulations were received from Prime Minister L. B. Pearson, Rt. Hon. J. G. Diefenbaker, Hon. Walter Dinsdale, His Worship Mayor S. A. Magnacca, Premier Duff Rob-lin, Gil Molgat, MLA, and Mrs. Eugene Me Vicar of Beaumont, Calif., Mrs. Davis’ only sister.Tea honors .were shared by Mrs. Donald Gellatly of Star-buck, wife of Mrs. Davis’ nephew; Mrs. Wilfred Bowler of Manitou, Mrs. Davis’ niece; Mrs. Elmer Kinsman and Mrs. Clair Kinsman, both of Darling-ford; Mrs. Nellie Pedersen of Brandon and Mrs. William Beare of Rounthwaite.Mrs. Roy Walwyn of Brandon and Mrs. Lome Beare of Rounthwaite were in charge of the guest book.
