HONORED ON ANNIVERSARYAbout 125 relatives and friends attended open house at the Leon Methodist church Sunday afternoon honoring the 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lane, Prophetstown.James Duling, Prophetstown, sang appropriate numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Goembel, T.eon.Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Winkler, Prophetstown, attendants at the wedding, were among those attending.Mrs. Lane had a white orchid corsage and Mr. Lane a white and red carnation boutonniere, gifts of their daughters, Mrs. Jer-old Rebert and Mrs. Audrey Curry, Prophetstowm. who sponsored the affair.The honorees received many lovely gifts which were cared for by Vicki Cassons, Geneseo and Debbie Vittitow, Prophetstown. Connie Rebert and Rae Lynn Curry, Prophetstown. were in charge of the guest book. Michael Curry, Rodney and Roland Rebert, Prophetstown, served as ushers.Refreshments were served from a table centered by a three tiered cake decorated in red and white, made by Mrs. Donald Bollivar and cut and served by Mrs. Vesta Vittitow and Mrs. Ida Koehler. Red and white candles in crystal holders were on either side of the cake.Mrs. Jerold Rebert and Mrs Audrey Curry poured the coffee and punch.
