Couple to Observe 50th Anniversary[the:Th(melt;PEriby,in7:4StrancprcthethChto*Mr. and Mrs. John W. Kaufman, j ^ Coshocton Route 2, will celebrate j ^ay their golden wedding anniversary, Zin at their home Tuesday. A dinner j ^ for members of the immediate! pra family and close relatives will be' held at the noon hour, while open house to which all of their friends are invited, will be held in the afternoon and evening.Fifty years ago on Jan. 29, John W. Kaufman and Therraby M. Sandel were married by Rev. Jones at Dresden. They wrere attended by Miss Blanche Zentymyer and Howard Sandel, both of Dresden.Following their marriage the couple went to housekeeping on a flt;rm in Franklin township. Thre^, years later they purchased the property known as the Hamilton Brotvning farm, where they have resided lor the past 47 years.Both Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman have taken an active part in church, school and community work. Mr. Kaufman has served as trustee for St. Paul’s Lutheran church for a number of years. They were formerly members of the Plainfield grange later transferring their membership to Franldin grange, where Mr. Kaufman was a member of the build-nig committee for the grange hall. They were instrumental in the establishment of'the annual Farmer’s Institute, and have been active in the Farm Bureau.Mr. Kaufman is a member of the Masonic lodge at Plainfield and Mrs. Kaufman is affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star, 142 in Coshocton.The couple has three children, Mrs. Alta Reiss, Millersburg Route 3, Mrs. Ruth Erman, Coshocton Route 2, and Vera L. Kaufman of the home. They have six grandchildren.Mrs. Laney Wells, Coshocton Route 4, is a sister of Mr. Kaufman. Mrs. Kaufman has two brothers, C. V. Sandel and A. R.
