Orchid Queen Is HonoredWhen Mrs. Carl D. Hauser-mann celebrated her recent 76th birthday, she was likely wearing a Laeliocattleya orchid named especially for her.Lc. Lucie Hausermann, as the new orchid is called, is white with a lavendar lip and a lot of yellow in the throat, and was named in Mrs. Hauser-mann’s honor by Patterson Orchids of Bergenfield, N. J.Mrs. Hausermann’s late hus-b a n d founded Hausermann’s Orchids on Addison Road at North Avenue, and today her sons and grandsons conduct the businesses. Edwin Hausermann is president of Hausermann’s Orchids, where his son Jim is a grower, and Erwin Hausermann operates Elmhurst Flower Growers with his sons, Ronald and George.
