Earlville Couple Married 54 YearsMr. and Mrs. H. J. Morsch Ob serve Anniversary Sunday at Their HomeMr, and Mrs. Henry J Morsch observed their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary at their home on Church street last Sunday. About forty friends and relatives gathered for a dinner Sunday noon. Later in the day, the wedding cake was cut and a luncheon was served followed by a program of felicitations. Rev. N. J. Brown of the local M. E. church was called upon for some appropriate remarks., Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Morsch were .married in Freedom township January 20, 1870. Mr. Morsch was born and raised in a log cabin in Freedom [township. Mrs. Morsch was before her marriage, Louisa Sauer. She I was a native of Northville. Mrs. Morsch is 81 years of age and Mr. Morsch is 85 years old at this time.The M orach *8 have five children living—Mrs. Carrie Bish of Giltner, Nebr.; E. S. Morsch of Denver, Col.; Oscar Morsch of Denver, Col.; Mrs. Will Pratt and Mrs. Earl Batterham of Earlville. All of the children except Oscar were present Sunday atthe anniversary observance. ThejMorsch’s have 18 grandchildren and23 great-grandchildren.Mr. and Mrs. Morsch hpve lived practically all their lives the vicinity and have won a respected place in the esteem of those who know them. They have been good citizens and their influence has been felt in the community for the good.
