Robert Putman, who died many ] years ago, was one of the six who attended the university on the j opening day in 1872. Another broth-'sier, L. R. Putman, now living in Ev-| anston, III., is a former student of Iscthe university. ;In addition to Robert Pulmu*n, the^ first boys attending the institution were A. W. Gregg, A. S Gregg, 0^ R. Gilbreath, W. G. llrooks and H, F.Huie.
