Each census has shown a ‘ gain, however slight', over the preceding count'. Th$ towtl has never had 'to recover from a boom period followed by the inevitable decline which follows ariy uunatural growth. Canqva's growth has been of a substantial nature.For seyeral years the iosvn has shown some substantial improvement each year in the way' of accomplishment or buildings. The community hospital, twp story brick hotel building, the Herald's modern ptau't, large three story implement establishment, public library building, blacksmith shop, garage, feed mill, and other new structures are improvements which have been made in recent years. Tho club holds monthly meetings during the greater part of the year which consists of dinners followed by entertainments. A school orchestra of about twenty members is' one of the activities of the'school which’ is a soiirce of pride to the people: of the com-muyity. • The high school also maintains a basketball team which this yoai1 has lost but one game and it considered a' strong contender tor district, region and perhaps state championship honors. The team is coached by a veteran school man, A. F.
