BC Plays Rematch With Highlanders1llll-;rt-ofBy ROBERT WHITE Poet-Heruld Sports Writer The Beck ley College Blue Hawks will be trying to end a unique losing string when they travel to Parkersburg today to play Ohio Valley College. Tip-off time is 2 p.m.The Highlanders are the only junior college team to hand the Hawks three consecutive losses, having beaten them twice last season. OVC won an 86-85 overtime decision here December 4.“They’ll be sky-high and they’ll be waiting on us,” Coach Joe Cook declared. “Not only are they playing on their home court, but this is their homecoming.”Although OVC lacks the height and strength of Bluefield and West Virginia State, they make up for it in hard work.“They’re a hard working club,” Cook said “they don’ttake too many bad shots and they’re sound fundamentally.”The Highlanders are led b\i Brent Aggas and Steve Daniels who did much of the damage in the first contest. “They’re a well-rounded team,” Cook pointed out. “It’s not any one man.”The Blue llawks led OVC most of the first game, only to see their margin slip away. The Highlanders tied the gameon Aggas’ last-second drive, andwent on to pick up an overtime win.Beckley committed 34 turnovers in that game, but Cook sees some improvement there. That hasn't been the case here in January, with the exception of the Bluefield game (26 inis-cues).The Beckley coach describes the Bluefield game as “the only bad game this group of boys has played” since six players were declared ineligible._
