Ski School WillOpen SaturdayJaycecs wiil official open their ski school for Janesville childrenat 1 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Park, the first sessions to con-, t.nue until 4 p.m. Plans were announced by Pat Carroll and Ken Lagerman, cochairmen of theproject.Meeting places will be at thenew Municipal Clubhouse and the Jaycee ski tow power house above the wading pool. Signs have been erected giving directions to the tow and to designated ski runs for beginners and more advanced skiers.Slopes for beginners are located to the right, immediately aftercrossing the railroad tracks beyond the perk entrance off Highway 14. Steeper slopes are below the ski tow which will not be operating for another two weeks.Clubhouse to Be Open The Municipal Clubhouse will be open and attended by a Jaycee from 1 to 4 p.m. The building, which is heated, has a pay phone. Since it is close to the runs for beginners, it will serve a a warming house for children who have no skis and are waiting touse the Jaycee skis. Parents may, also wait in the clubhouse, whorethey can plav cards, or they can help change ski bindings or helpentertain the children not under instruction.I«Jaycees made the request that r parents of fairly young children s refrain from just leaving them at t the ski school to pick them up lat-,cr. “If a child g^ts homesick, hurt I or ill, it is better for the parent to be close bv.” Carroll said.Almost 150 children went to thepark last weekend to sample thesnowy sport.
