In Memoriam,The subject of this brief memoir, Anna M. Johnson was born near Greensboro, Gilford county, N. C-, 12th mo,, 10th, 1S15. Her parents were Henry and Rachel Maey, to whom she was a devoted ana faithful daughter. She was married toWm. G. Johnson 4th mo., 24th, 1S40, and unto them were born six children, lour of whom are still living, three daughters and one son*They moved to Indiana in 1S55 and to Plainfield in the tall of 1S5S, where she re-sided until the day of her death, 1st mo., 17th, 1S92. Age, 76 yrs., 1 mo., 7 days.Almost all of her life she was a mem ber of the Friends church. For more thanhalf a century she was a devoted motherand faithful wife, always by word andprayer, aiding her beloved husband in hischosen work, the minist^, which so often called him from his home*From her great heart came forth a love that knew no bounds for the orphan- children both colored and white, and for the space of eleven years, she was activelp engaged in different Orphan’s Homes, ministering to the fatherless, motherless and homeless, and from many parts of this land are those who will tenderly cherish her memory, and in the last day will rise up.and call her blessed.For some two years past her health hasbeen failing, but she was not confined to her bed until five days before her death, and with wonderful patience and resignation she bore the suffering that was hers. Her end was one of peace and everyevidence was given that she was ready to enter in upon that rest which knows no end. ' lt;j.The funeral took place Tuesday morning at 10 A. M,, from the Friends church, Plainfield, Services conducted by the Rev. David Hadley and wife.
