ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDING OFCONVENT OBSERVED BY,SOCIAL - 1More than two hundred people gathered yesterday afternoon in the beautifully decorated parlors of the Ursullne Convent to attend the annual reception given by tlie St, UrsuUne Alumnae In commemoration of the seventy-third anniversary of the founding of the convent, which, according- to Its ^sponsors, Is the oldest. teaching order in the South, The convent waa erected here in 1847, the alumnae having been organized for the past twenty years. Each year since their organization a reception has been held at the convent, the entertainment yesterday being the twentieth given.The parlors were decorated for the event, luxuriant maidenhair ferns and palms being used in profusion. These were placed on mahogany pedestals and stands and the pots' were bound with yellow, which, against the white walls and ceiling, carried out the colors of the alumnae. - The punch and cakes served .during the afternoon also carried out the color motif of yellow and white.The program was as follows: Pianosolo, Miss Cavejahl; vocal solo, Mrs. E, EmJHani, accompanied by Mrs, R. J, Lowe; piano solo, Miss Helen Shay; vocal solo, Mrs. George Reid, accompanied by Miss J. M. Burk halter; flute solo, Felix Stella, accompanied by Miss J. M. Burkhnlter; Galvez “Saxophone Quartet, Felix Stella, L. Ragone, Ralph L, Zer-wokh and Lawrence Wigbels; vocal quartet,, first sopranos, Mias Clayton, Misa Schwarz bach, Miss Yanger and. Misa Ctmnoly; second sopranos, Miss Cave-[ jahl, Misa McCabe; first alto, Mias Chris-,» tenson and Miss Gay, :j| Mrs. E. Borelly waa general chairman!; of the event, Mrs, Eugene Coughlin had * charge of the program and Mrs1. Victor Bauiard and Miss Mary Greany presided over the punch bowl.The reception committee was composed of Mrs. John Goggan, Mrs, George'Copley, Mrs. H. A. Eiband, Mrs, S. K. Fisher, Mrs. V. M. Davidson, Mrs. Frank Jones, Mrs. William J. Murphy, Mrs. Joseph M.' Maurer and Mrs. Eh J, Coughlin.The arrangement comrtiitteo consisted of Mrs. E. Borelly, chairman; Mrs. O. J.
