Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair, of 322 Fourth street, celebrated I heir golden wedding anniversary.Today the family have gathered and arc* honoring lhcir parents on the occasion of their 71st and 74th birthdays, Jan. 18 and 19, in addition to their wedding anniversary. with a bn!?«iuct at the Cosmopolitaif hole'.Tomorrow they will hold Open House at their residence, where they will welcome their many friends.WAS RAILROADERAt th? time of their marriage, Mr. Sinclair was a fireman on the South Eastern Railway, which later became part ol the Southern Railway. He slatted as a wiper and worked up to engineer, handling freight, passenger and express passenger runs.In 1006 Mr. and Airs. Sinclair derided to come to Canada, where the former’s brother, Walter, had conic some three years previously, and who had secured a position for Mr. Sinclair as a hostler in Calgary. However, upon their arrival in Medicine Mat. Mr. Patterson, then locomotive foreman here, asked Air. Sinclair to stay in the city. They have resided in Medicine Hat ever since.1 Following his arrival in Medicine Hat, Mr. Sinclair worked as a hostler at the local depot for tv/o years, then did contract- work for the company. Later he .joined the service of the City of Medicine Hat as an engineer, and* at the lime of his retirement, owing to indifferent health, he had seen .33years service—for the last four of which he was chief engineer at the power plant. Air. Sinclair still takes a keen interest in the plant, where he spent so many years of his life. He is often seen visiting his old workmates and former superintendent. Mr. H. 0.
