New Carver Library Opened At CeremonyBy JANE MARXER/'lARVER Library for Negroes, an attractive und modern new building located at 14th Street and Cooper Avenue, was officially opened for use yesterday afternoon in a simple ceremony in which Mayor George T. Morris made the opening remarks.In presenting the keys of the building to Col. Harry M. Ayers, chairman of Carnegie Library board, the mayor said that it was a long-looked forward-to event in the town and that the build dig had been very much needed. He spoke of its beauty and coinmeuded the architect lor the Henry's plan.Colonel Ayers, in accepting the keys, said that it was one of hishappiest moments in his association with the city library system. He then gave the keys to Mrs. Ella Williams, librarian, and told her Uie whole state would benefit by the work beiug done by her and her assoc iates.Mrs. Williams said, ‘'To you that have made this library possible, the community owes you a debt of gratitude and we wish to thank you all for your kindness and generosity which will be of benefit to us all.Amoug those present for the event were John Hyatt, head li-| brarian at Carnegie; Mbs Mddred: Goodrich, tonner librarian there who retired last fall; James Ilotf (Bee Carver, Page I, Col, 4
