10 Years AgoEditor's Note—The following items are taken from the January 17,1936, issue of the East Hampton News.An increase of $3,576.30 in the Marlborough Grand List was noted last week when the 1936 list was filed by the Board of Assessors with Town Clerk Willis Hall. The total is $287,127.20.The King's Daughters have elected the following officers for 1936: leader, Mrs. J. Casper Barton; viceleader, Mrs. Eugene Wells; secretary, Miss Florence M. Day; and treasurer, Miss Isadora Dickson.Fred Leonard of Middle Haddam is ill.The condition of Irvin Tibbals of Cobalt, who is recovering from a lengthy illness, continues to show improvement.Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strong have moved to Middle Haddam.Arthur Bailey of Cobalt has completely recovered from his recent illness.Mr. and Mrs. Albro Bell announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Ellen, to Franklyn Harris Hitchcock, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.:W. Hitchcock of Hartford.
