It Was in Honor of nother.A pleasant family reunion and birthday party was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs Jonas Bortz, in Longswamp township, between Mertztown and Long-swamp church, last Sunday. The occasion was the 73d birthday anniversary of j mother Bortz. Four children, sixteen grand-children and one great-grand-child were present, representing four generations. Two sons, Jonathan, of Pinegrove, and Harry, of Reading, were absent. An elegant dinner was served by the children. Nathan Fritch, of Bethlehem, a grandson and student at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, offered prayer. The occasion was a delightful one and will long be re membered by those who were present. The following were ptesent:Mr. and Mrs. Tonas Bortz, Dr. D. W. Bortz and wife, of Jacksonwald, Mr, and Mrs* Trion Fritch, of Bethlehem,with their following children : Ella, Chas. Nathan, Harry and Walter; Mrs. Emma Mess, of Bcryertown, and following children,Mrs. Ellen Bolb, husband and daughter Esther, James Mess and wife and Mary, Chas. and Elmer Mess; Mr. and Mrs. James Schaeffer, of near Kutztown, and children Katie, Ella, Willie and George ; Sallie Bortz, daughter of Alfred Bortz and wife, (both deceased) living with her grandparents; Mr and Mrs. Jonas Bortz, William Weller, Jas. H. Master, Daniel I«ong and Mrs. William Schubert, of Long-sw Edwin Schubert, of AUentown, and H. M. Houck, of Boyertown. .
