The Woman’s Club BanquetThe annual mid-winter banquet of the Glen wood Woman’s Club was held Monday evening at their rooms, and the male appendages of the Club members were permitted to participate in this occasion. The program was rendered as published in the Tribune last Friday, with the addition of pertinent and impertinent discussions of some of the topics.Free reign was given to fancy, and away the audience went chasing rainbows through dreamland. Around the square the streets were paved, cleaned and beautified, the court house replaced by a modern structure, the three bucket shops supplanted by a Carnegie library, a city park established along the old railroad right of way, Keg Creek straightened, and the city quite generally improved. In addition to this the secret of making homes attractive was expounded. The ladies of the club are a progressive power. They are practical as well as fanciful, and can execute as well as conceive. United, they control the reigns that guide the fpbnre of our city in many important matters.More power to the Woman’s Club!t
