Mr., Mrs. Hartsock Honored With 40th Anniversary PartyMr. and Mrs. LeRoy F.• Pete Hartsock. Oldtown, were honored recently on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary. The surprise party took place at the Clifford B. Sisler Post 9451. Oldtown. and was hosted by their children and families.The couple was wed Dec. 11. 1948. at the Lutheran parsonage. Arch Street, city. The Rev. Donald Brake was the officiating clergyman.Mrs. Hartsock. the former Ruth Slider, is the daughter of the late Fred and Ettie Slider. Spring Gap. She is an active member of the United Methodist Women and enjoys babysitting her grandchildren and helping the elderly in the community. Mr. Hartsock is the son of the late Charles and Margaret Hartsock. Oldtown. He served in the European Theater during World War II and retired from the Allegany County Roads Department. Mr. Hartsock is active in the Oldtown Fire Company, where he served as past president. He is a charter member of the Clifford B. Sisler Post, where he served as commander for six years and currently has the job of adjutant. He served as president of the Oldtown Sportsmans Club until it was disbanded and helps organize the annual fishing rodeo every year in Oldtown. Mr. Hartsock‘farms and is the caretaker of the St. Francis Cemetery in Oldtown Both Mr and Mrs. Hartsock are members of the Oldtown United Methodist Church.Mr. and Mrs. Hartsock are the parents of two children. L. Craig Hartsock. Oldtown. and Becci Hartsock-Haines. Flint-stone. They also have four grandchildren.Craig Hartsock presented his* mother with a corsage of miniature red carnations and Becci Hartsock-Haines presented her father with a red carnation boutonniere.A ruby and white color scheme was used. The cake was baked by Gloria Hardman and featured red rose decorations. The food was prepared by Mrs. Hartsock-Haines and Tara Hartsock. daughter-in-law of the couple. Assisting were Freida Hartsock and Alice Hartsock. sisters-in-law of Mr Hartsock Guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Slider Sr., brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. Hartsock. and Mrs. Dorothy Dolly and daughters.Out of town guests included Mrs. Dorothv Dollv, sister of Mrs. Hartsock. and’Doris Dolly and Rosalee Beebe, nieces, all of Woodbine. N.J. Congratulations were received from Mr. and Mrs. Tim Dolly and Robert .Dolly. Woodbine; Mr. and Mrs. James Jerrick. Millville. N.J.; Mr. and Mrs. Jav Stites. Cape May.
