Cheque presented to FairviewA special ceremony Monday saw a cheque presented to the municipality of Fairview by the Recreation Branch of the Alberta Department of Youth*The cheque given to themunicipality was financial assistance made available toward the cooperative regional development and improvement of recreation services for Fairview and the Municipal District #136.The area involves a population of 3,676 people.The cheque was presented to George Maskalyk, recreation board chairman for Fairview and district.The ceremony was held in the office of Fairview recreation director Jerry Howard Monday afternoon.The Recreation Branch of the Departm?nt of Youth is responsible for the administration of $4,000,000 toward the development of leaders, comprehensiveprograming and facilities thatmake opportunities for leisure to all citizens.
