Allen in Salem Township,Tuesday evening) January 10, they wcro reminded of thin event at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mlnnls In Hheaklcyvlllo where they were completely surprised wit on they called at the brothers homoMrs, Minnln, horn In Salem Township, Is the only living member of her family today, having had two sisters, Nancy Ann and Kuphemia, Before her marriage to Mr, Mlnnlsishe was a school teacher in Mercer Bounty and taught In several townships.Mr. Mlnnls came from a larger family, seven hoys and four girls, children of Asher and Elizabeth Now bold Mlnnls. Of this largo family ho and his brother, Harry Min-nis, of Sheakleyvliie. remain.The celebrating couple have iio children. They began housekeeping on tlie old Min tils homes tend In Sandy Creek Township, which Ib hUU si a tiding.' Utter Mr. Mlnnls and his brother, Harry, were engaged In the meat business in ‘ Meadvlile. Then the two brothers formed a partnership with Leonard Btright and were engaged in the lumber business in Butler County and later In Crawford County.Mr Mlnnls withdrew from the firm and ho and Mrs. Mlnnls again*took up farming on the old John S.«Alien farm in Sulom Township. After living hero for several years they purchased the McCurdy farm south of Adamsvllle on the Green vlllc-Con-noaut.Lako lioad* They resided here i for about twenty years and having advanced In years decided to retire from active farming. They sold their farm and purchased a home inAdarnsvitle where they now reside.*They are highly respected citizens of this community and enjoy a large circle of friends. They aro active members of the U. P. Chudch of Adttmsvilio.Thirty-five close relatives of the couplo helped them to enjoy this eventful day. A lunch was served late in tho evening after which an interesting talk was given by Miss Bessie Hazcn of California, Pa., a nleco of Mr. Minnla, touching upon events In- the honored couple’s life and of tho high achievement which they had attained, fifty years of quiet life of harmony and contentment They roceived many lovely:gifts. .
