SourisMr. and Mrs. William McClaughry. j Souris residents, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 10. Mrs. McClaughry, whose maiden name was Margaret Ann McIntosh, was born at Seaforth, Ont. She cameto Souris, then known as Plum Creek with her parents in 1S1. The family hoestealed on the same half section on which Breezelawn school was later built. Mr. McClaughry was born in the county of Tipperary. Ireland, lie cam* to this country in 1889 witii his mother, Mrs. B. Tray-er. his stepfather having preceded them by six months. Their destination was Griswold. As a lad he attended Huntingdon school, being one of the pupils of the first teacher, the late R. W. McMorran.Mr. and Mrs. McClaughry were married on Jan. 10, 1900 in the Old Bell House in the Huntingdon district by Rev. r. Thynne, at that time minister of Knox church. Souris. The couple engaged in farming for many years. In 192d they moved into Souris. Their family of five are: Pearl. Lester and lyle of Souris; Andrew at Victoria. B.C.; and Mrs. V. T. Cole (Grace! at Ladner. B.C.There are two grandchildren.s1
