all tills, but 1 do know that ho has not as yet been Interfered with by the authorities here.In conversation with one of tho recruiting agents 1 learn that tho party that is being raised hero is to bo commanded by Gen. Crawford, and will connect at some unknown point witli a force coming down from New York. Ho also tells me that a camp has been established below this city, where tho recruits arc sent upon being enlisted, and that all tho supplies anti articles necessary for an outfit arc on hand. Enlistments are made for six months at present. Whether Gen. Crawford has any authority for this action, or not, I am not able to say, but it would seem from the fact that no notice is taken of it by tho propor authorities here, that he must have something to back him up. It is hardly possible that he or any one would openly enlist United States soldiers, promising them discharges, unless he lmd authority from the “powers that be.” However, timo.wifl tell all, ami you may look for something interesting from this section before long. It la said that Gen. Lew. Wallace is also connected with this atfalr, and will shortly he here. This comes from one of tho recruiting ofllcera under Col. Reed, and I suppose cau be considered authentic. -Everything is quiet on the Mexican sldo nt present.
