SOCIAL NEWSLORRAINE HANKEY HONORED AT BRIDAL SHOWER GIVEN BY GRAETTINGER WOMENA miscellaneous shower was held in honor of Lorraine Hankty daughter of Mr. and Mn. Lawrence Hanley on Sunday, Dec.7, at 2:00 at the Legion HalL Miss Hankey will be married on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1:00 to Michael Harris Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Harris Sr. of Laurens at the Immaculate Conception Church in Craettinger. Father Vincent Beacom officiating.Approximately 60 guests were present.A short program was presented with JoAnn Scho-ning as master of ceremonies. She introduced the bride-to-be Lorraine, her mother, Mrs. Lawrence Hankey and the brides elect's grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Hankey. Also the groom's mother, Mrs. Michael Harris. Each were presented corsages of pink and lavendar carnations.A short program was enjoyed. A reading by Mrs. Betty Millea, reading by Sandy Tindall and a reading by Therese Brinkmanaccompanied by singing with Wynette Craettinger and Marlys Craettinger at the piano.The serving table and gift tables were covered with white tablecloths and pink and lavendar streamers. A white and lavendar umbrella was used as a centerpiece for the gift table and a white and pink umbrella centered the serving table.Mrs. Mable Jensen, aunt of the bride, of Ringsted, was in charge of the punch bowl and Mrs.Henry Hankey was in charge of the coffer service.Mrs. Mary Sprick, sister of the groom of Storm Lake, and Esther Hankey helped to open and display the gifts.Hostesses for the event were, the Mesdames. Mae Torrence, JoAnn Schoning, Mae Zitterich, Jeanette Given, Alice Tindall,Mary Jean Schiltz, Betty Millea, Dorothy Sjeklocha, Lois Studer, Mary Jo Tindall, Sandy Tindall, Mary Tindall and Marge Torrence.
