Mel WatchornTopCur forIt wasn’t difficult to choose Fairview’s Mel Watchorn as the year’s top curler in the North Peace district.Mel represented the Peace River zone last year in provincial playoffs, and eventually was defeated by Walt Ashlee erf Dawson Creek representing the South Peace.However, Watchorn cleaned up in most of the local bon-spiels and is rated highly on the Alberta list of top curlers.Besides being a fine curler. Mel is one of the finest ball players in the country. Last season he had another outstanding year with the WBLFairviewOutlaws.Honorable mention in the curling department goes to Hugh Lamont of Peace River and to Laurie Saville of High Prairie.
