Smith were honored Dec. 22 with a 50th wedding anniversary celebration at the Lane Street Church of God fellowship hall.Hosts for the occasion were the couple’s children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. James N. Smith, Mary Alice Barrett, Brad and Todd Barrett, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Corriher, and Tammy and Jason Smith.The Smiths were married Dec. 22, 1934 in South Carolina. Mrs. Smith was attired in a blue v-neck dress complemented by a silk orchid corsage. The couple’s honor gift was a brass coat tree.Assisting with the serving were their nieces, Mrs. Gladys Russell and Mrs. Faye Collins. Mrs. Keith Corriher and Miss Tammy Smith attended the guest register.The party area was decorated with a Christmas tree.
