Levi F. Macomber, an estimable and highly respected citizen of Kendallville, Ind., for the past 13 years, died at the home of liis son, H. H. Mscomber, 439 South Water jftreet, in that city at 10 o’clock .“Thursday morning, Jan. 16. He was J56 years old.Death came peacefully and quietly, resulting from complications incident to senility. Taken to his bed •several weeks ago, the venerable old man gradually weakened. For the last 43 hours preceding his death 'he had been unconscious. Prior to his last illness, he had been tip and around. HJs death removed the last of a family of four brothers and two sisters, all of whom lived beyond the ripe old age of 80 years.Born In Massachusetts Mr. Macomber was bom Jan. 29,1844, In Hew Bedford, Mass. He moved westward to Sterling in 1859, where he first engaged in farming. On Dec. 28, 1884, he was united in marriage with Mary A. Rundlett. 1 In 1872, Mr, Macomber embarked Ifjtu the grocery business in Sterling. m|3e was also supervisor of ’Whiteside fcounty in 1880. In 1883 he moved to • Chicago, -where he organized a I teaming company.
